Internships are available at presidential libraries under the direction of the U.S. Department of State. There are thirteen different libraries littered around the United States, each dedicated to a president who has since left office. The current roll includes institutions housing archives for the following:
- Herbert Hoover
- Franklin D. Roosevelt
- Harry S. Truman
- John F. Kennedy
- Lyndon B. Johnson
- Richard Nixon
- Gerald R. Ford
- Jimmy Carter
- Ronald Reagan
- George Bush
- William J. Clinton
