Paid Intern- Editor (Full-Time)

Department: Family History Department

PURPOSES

This internship will be focused on editing historical data gathered by others, researching, and compiling historical data for assigned localities, and using the data to create accurate and informational snippets.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Edit historical data for content, brevity, and accuracy.
  • Conduct assigned research projects summarizing a locality’s history using reliable sources, prioritizing data as directed.
  • Input gathered content into a standard template.
  • Help shepherd content through additional pre-publication steps as needed.
  • Assist with other team projects as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Paid interns are qualified while enrolled in an educational institution and for one year following graduation. They must sign a Paid Internship Engagement Letter.
  • Student in English, History, Journalism, or related field.
  • Some experience with editing.
  • Ability to analyze and prioritize research to complete projects within a given timeframe.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Ability to work effectively alone and with a group.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word.
  • Knowledge of multiple languages is a plus.
