Application Deadline: November 13

The Springville Museum of Art is the oldest museum for visual art in the state, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, and a key promoter and contributor to the arts in Utah. We display over 15 exhibitions annually. SMA is the permanent home of an impressive collection of 150 years of Utah fine art, twentieth century Russian-Soviet Socialist Realism, and American Realist art. The artwork is displayed throughout 29 galleries in this 45,000 square foot facility as well as in a beautiful outdoor sculpture garden, all constructed in Spanish Colonial Revival style architecture.

As part of the POPS (Professional Outreach Program to Schools), the museum is home for visual art educational outreach programs to Utah schools. In addition, SMA hosts community events, concerts and recitals, an art festival, and lecture series.  Docent tours are arranged throughout the year.  The museum is also available for rentals for private events.

SMA offers multiple internships in their curatorial, education, and marketing/communications areas. You should apply by November 13 at smofa.org’s Support page. In addition to the online application, you should send a cover letter, resume, list of references, and a 1-2 page writing sample to bdahlin@springville.org.

Application Deadline: January 11

The National Gallery of Art offers competitive internships geared towards graduate and advance undergraduate students during both summer and the traditional school year. More information and links to the online application can be found on their site, and the deadline for both the Summer Internship program and their Fall semester positions is January 11, 2016.
