Job Title: Copywriter and Web Assistant—BYU Creative Marketing
Work days/times: Monday–Friday, morning or afternoon shift
Hours per week: up to 40 hours per week summer term; 20 hours per week fall–winter
Hourly wage: $10.00–15.00 per hour, depending on skills and experience
Start dates: ASAP
Supervisor: Erin Jackson, Manager
Education:
- Seeking a degree in English, E-Lang with an editing minor, computer science, or information technology
Description:
- Work with web developers and social media specialists to continually edit and update content on several campus departments’ websites and platforms
- Populate new pages using Drupal, WordPress, and other CMS platforms
- Write compelling marketing and website content for a variety of audiences
- Improve SEO
- Implement content marketing strategies as part of coordinated campaigns
- Write scripts for commercials and video content for academic departments
- Collaborate with designers, videographers, sales consultants, photographers, and others
Qualifications:
- Must pay extreme attention to detail
- Must have superior writing and editing skills
- 1+ years experience creating marketing materials such as a website, blog, email campaigns, or landing pages
- Ability to analyze and craft tailored messages based on audience and context
- Ability to communicate and manage a variety of client messages and brands appropriately
- Ability to manage projects with very little help; must be responsible and resourceful, take ownership of work, and possess problem-solving skills
- Must be self-motivated, punctual, and deadline-driven
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Must be dependable, follow through on projects to completion, and also remain flexible during the process
- Must possess maturity and the ability to work with directors and department heads
- Must possess basic knowledge in the Adobe Creative Suite
- HTML, PHP, and CSS experience a plus; experience using InDesign a plus; experience with SEO a plus
