The Communications Intern fills a critical role at RizePoint, a rapidly growing company specializing in cloud-based software for large enterprises in the food, hospitality and retail industries. The Communications Intern is responsible for assisting with internal and external communications. This internship provides an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in Silicon Slopes and learn the communications and public relations landscape for a growing SaaS company. This is a part-time, six-month position located in RizePoint’s Cottonwood Heights office, reporting to the Communications Manager.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Support company’s PR strategy and execute it in different phases
- Curate engaging content for social media and company blog
- Edit and distribute press releases
- Assist with strategic message planning and development of comprehensive communications plans
- Assist in administrative duties, including internal communications
- Build and update media lists and databases
Qualifications and Requirements
- Strong desire to learn along with professional drive
- Solid understanding of the different social networks (LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while working both independently and in multidisciplinary groups/teams with a high level of self-motivation
- Proficiency with MS Office
- Passion for the PR industry and its best practices
- Graphic design skills preferred
- Junior or Senior working toward a Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, English, or a related major; Recent graduates will also be considered
