4-H STEM Curriculum Writer & Resource Manager – Utah County

Position Summary:

Work with 4-H professional to produce a variety of 4-H curriculum especially focused on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math).  Also provide resources for our afterschool programming related to STEM and provide evaluation tools and methods related to STEM.

 

This position is located in Utah County. This is a temporary grant funded position the ends October 31st, 2017.

Responsibilities:

Work with 4-H professionals to produce a variety of 4-H curriculum/project manuals – especially targeted on “4-H Maker,” STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math), Leadership, etc.

Manage the STEM Resource available for check out.

Provide STEM resources and ideas and curriculum for our 4-H Afterschool providers.

Develop and provide evaluation tools to measure impact of the 4-H STEM program.

Minimum/Preferred Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

 

Excellent technical writing skills in order to produce 4-H curriculum.

Excellent skills and experience in writing, editing, grammar, proof-reading, typing etc.

Must be able to work effectively with others.

Knowledge of current computer software, including word processing, spreadsheets, and database programs, software used for publishing etc.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Self-starter with good follow through.

Ability to work with minimal supervision.

Outstanding time management skills.

Ability to handle multiple priorities and to work comfortably in a deadline-driven environment.

Must have reliable transportation and valid Utah drivers license.

Employment contingent upon cleared background check.

Preferred Qualifications:

 

College education related to technical writing and/or experience in curriculum writing.

Prior experience in the 4-H Program.

Working knowledge of the Experiential Learning Model of hands-on learning.
