PURPOSES
This is a 28 hour per week internship that is expected to last approximately 6 months.
This position will help you gain experience working with a variety projects and business operations. This will happen through assisting the Customer Experience Manager in delivering projects and managing operational components of family history in the Africa and the Pacific Areas. This role will allow you to work in a true global environment, where what you do will make a difference for people doing family history and for their ancestors.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for an upbeat and dedicated individual who loves to work on projects and is interested in international business.
– Excellent communication and writing skills
– Internship is for current temple worthy members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints
– Proficiency with MS Office suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, OneNote)Â
– Understanding the culture of Africa and/or Pacific is a plus
– Currently enrolled in higher education or recently completed (less than one year).
– Experience developing and maintaining successful working relationships with teams
– Good understanding of family history
– Strong leadership skills; with the ability to take initiative, develop strong trusted relationships, and be a self-starter
Paid Interns are qualified while enrolled in an educational institution and for one year following graduation. They must sign a Paid Internship Engagement Letter.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Project Management and Project Coordination:
– Six Months Project Management Experience
– Planning and execution of small projects (Africa and Pacific).
– Controlling of current projects.
– Assist training and support of an international team for the collection of oral histories and oral genealogy.
– Meeting management of international teams.
– Assist in training development.
Supply Chain and Operations Management:
– Work with supervisor in provisioning hardware and software for oral genealogy.
– Work with a quality control program to ensure the accuracy and usability of collected genealogies.
– Assist in the forecast of equipment requirements.
– Manage assets through a system to ensure that equipment is used effectively and mitigate loss.
– Assist in the preparation of international shipping.
WORTHINESS QUALIFICATION
Must be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and currently temple worthy.
