Job Details:

We are seeking a Strategic Initiatives Manager I for an exciting new position within the Strategy and Innovation team. The Strategic Initiatives Manager I will be responsible for designing and producing high quality market research to support MSK’s international strategy.

As the Strategic Initiatives Manager I, you will spend:

80% of your time performing research-related activities which include, but not limited to:

  • Conducting literature reviews and writing whitepapers on many diverse topics. For example: global healthcare systems, international insurance markets, consumer health behavior in international markets, etc.
  • Utilizing various qualitative research methods such as surveys to generate original insights with internal and external groups
  • Attending conferences to network and gain new insights
  • Developing and updating profiles of target countries
  • Utilizing external databases and resources to improve the analysis of global markets
  • Preparing and giving presentations to leadership

20% of your time working closely with leadership to develop market strategies that will require

  • Thinking through opportunities to expand MSK’s presence in target market
  • Providing recommendations for engaging with potential partners (private & public)

You are:

  • Someone who exhibits a keen sense of curiosity about the world
  • An effective communicator, both written and oral, capable of determining how best to reach different audiences and executing communications based on that understanding
  • To reiterate, a strong writer (you will be asked to provide writing samples during the interview process)
  • Able to work effectively in an environment notable for complex, sometimes contradictory information
  • Adept at planning and prioritizing work to meet commitments aligned with goals
  • Able to operate effectively, even when things are not clear or the way forward is not obvious
  • Adept at learning quickly, applying insights from past efforts to new situations

You have/are:

Required:

  • A bachelor’s degree (Health Policy, Public Health, Public Policy, Humanities, etc.)
  • Experience and familiarity with qualitative research methods
  • A current global events junkie
  • A Willingness to travel

Preferred:

  • Experience in the use of Adobe products such as inDesign, Photoshop, etc.
  • Experience working in an international setting
  • Fluency in a second language (e.g. Mandarin, Spanish, Portugese)
