SOCIAL MEDIA SPECIALIST
Description
The BYU-Pathway Worldwide part-time social media specialists are primarily responsible for generating social media content and strategies in support of BYU-Pathway Worldwide’s digital outreach efforts. These efforts include managing day-to-day social media activity by writing, creating, and scheduling content; developing and implementing social media campaigns and tactics; targeting online outreach to promote brand awareness and drive enrollment; and analyzing, reviewing, and reporting on effectiveness of campaigns to maximize results.
This position helps BYU-Pathway clearly and effectively communicate its offerings, mission, and blessings to a diverse audience of thousands of students and Church-service missionaries throughout the world using social media. As a member of a professional communication team, students will gain meaningful experience and skills applicable to the communication field.
Qualifications
• Strong writing and editing skills
• Excellent planning, organizing, and time management
• Ability to proactively overcome obstacles with minimal supervision
• Professional experience in social media management and online content creation
• Strong industry awareness of trends in social media performance
• Studying Communication with an emphasis in Public Relations, Advertising, or Social Media Marketing (preferred)
• Demonstrated success or university coursework in any of the following fields:
• Digital Media Content Creation
• Digital Media Strategies and Tactics
• Media Research Methods
• Media Strategy and Planning
• Social Media Design
• Social Media Marketing and AdvertisingProgram skills preferred:
• Facebook (Business Manager, Ads Manager, etc.)
• Google Ad Words
• Social media publishing tools (Later, Hootsuite, etc.)
• WordPress (or another publishing tool)
• Microsoft Office and online office applications (Google Docs/Drive)
• Adobe Creative Suite (basic understanding is a plus)
20 hours per week with a flexible schedule between core business hours (Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.)

CONTENT MESSAGING SPECIALIST
Description
The BYU-Pathway Worldwide part-time content specialist is primarily responsible for generating copy for a variety of messaging, including a blog, newsroom, email, and text messages. These efforts include interviewing students, missionaries, and employees from around the world; writing articles; reviewing work with co-workers and supervisors; uploading articles to WordPress; and creating and maintaining an editorial calendar.
This position helps BYU-Pathway clearly and effectively communicate its offerings and mission to a diverse audience of thousands of students and Church-service missionaries throughout the world. As a member of a professional communication team, students will gain meaningful experience and skills applicable to the communication field.
This position is located in the Triad Center in Salt Lake City, UT.
Qualifications
• Strong writing and editing skills
• Studying in communication or English fields (preferred)
• Thorough knowledge of and experience with the writing process
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience conducting interviews
• Ability to follow directions and meet fast-paced deadlines
• Planning, organizing, and time management
• WordPress (or another publishing tool)
• Microsoft Office and online office applications (Google Docs/Drive)
• Social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.)
• Marketing Cloud or other email marketing system (basic understanding)
• Adobe Creative Suite (basic understanding is a plus)20 hours per week with a flexible work schedule between core business hours (Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm).
