POSITION SUMMARY
The Executive Office Intern provides high-level administrative support to the BYU-Pathway Worldwide Executive Office. This position includes interaction with university leadership, church officers, executives, and students. He/she provides high-level customer service and professionalism to all they interact with both internally and externally. The incumbent is expected to keep up with a professional environment, the general flow of the Executive Office, and regularly changing priorities. Being teachable, perceptive, and proficient at learning are required to effectively manage the competing demands and priorities. This position is one of high visibility and often functions with documents and information that are confidential and sensitive with high importance to BYU-Pathway Worldwide.
The 2019 internship opportunities are four-month paid positions located in Salt Lake City with no benefits and no stipend for housing. The salary is $13.50 per hour. Hours are typically Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Infrequent nights and weekend work may be required during high-level events. RESPONSIBILITIES
• Provide administrative support to the BYU-Pathway Worldwide Executive Office.
• Maintain a professional public image for BYU-Pathway Worldwide and for the Executive Office.
• Coordinate with the executive offices of high-level ecclesiastical, university, and business leaders.
• Work with the Travel Department to arrange domestic and international travel for the Executive Office.
• Reconcile the Executive Office’s travel expenses, ensuring accurate reimbursements.
• Work with the Church’s Global Services Center and Human Resources team to assist with onboarding new employees (phone setup, computer equipment, parking passes, etc.)
• Assist with Executive Office events such as summits, conferences, dinners, and speaking engagements.
• Write high-profile and professional correspondence and communication.
• Type and proofread correspondence, reports, manuscripts, speeches, etc. often relating to confidential, sensitive, and important BYU-Pathway Worldwide matters.
• Assist with agenda preparation for executive-level meetings.
• Receive, screen, and place phone calls for the Executive Office.
• Perform routine office duties such as typing, filing, photocopying, purchasing supplies, entering data, running errands, and scheduling rooms and appointments.
• Complete special projects including (but not limited to): performing research and data analysis, gathering information for presentations, relaying assignments, and report editing and writing.
• Gather data from multiple sources to complete reports and respond to letters and inquiries.
QUALIFICATIONS
Paid Interns are qualified while enrolled in an educational institution.
• Minimum GPA: 3.0
• Must be a U.S. Citizen
• Desired Majors: Business, Communications, Languages and Letters, Humanities
• Previous office experience preferred
• Highly professional with mature judgment and demeanor
• Capable of complete discretion and confidentiality
• Expertise in English and grammar
• Exceptional organizational, writing, grammar, and editing skills
• Highest proficiency with written and verbal communication
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
• Willingness to learn and share knowledge
