The University has approved on-site internships for fall semester as long as the internship provider and the intern sign additional paperwork before the internship begins. Grant Writing and Development Intern
Length of Commitment: 10 hours per week; 1 semester
Dates Needed: August 21st –December 4th, 2020
Requirements:
- 18 + years of age
- FSC Background Check
- TB Test
Duties:
- Work with the fundraising team to locate and write grant proposals
- Responsible for creating a calendar of available grants and deadlines
- Update fundraising database
- Help develop a donor retention program
- Write thank you letters to existing donors
- Engage in event planning and implementation when applicable
Qualifications:
- Excellent writing and research skills
- Proficient in basic computer programs: MS Office
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work proactively within a team as well as independently
Mission Related: The Family Support Center receives funding from a variety of sources including: government, corporate donations, private foundations, individual giving and fundraising events. Grants are paramount for supporting our programs and fulfilling our mission.

Community Engagement Intern
Length of Commitment: 5-10 hours per week; 1 semester
Dates Needed: August 21st –December 4th, 2020
Location of Volunteer Work: (Remote)
Requirements:
- 18 + years of age

Duties:
- Attend/coordinate outreach events on behalf of Family Support Center
- Assist with various media including; social media, press releases, radio, news, and more.
- Engage community/donor volunteer groups
- Work with Development team on development related projects
Qualifications:
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Proficient in basic computer programs: MS Office, Google,
- Experience and knowledge of social media platforms
- Ability to work proactively within a team as well as independently
- Reliable form of transportation
Mission Related: The Family Support Center receives funding from a variety of sources including: government, corporate donations, private foundations, individual giving and fundraising events. The Family Support Center currently facilitates two fundraising events every year: the Annual Cherish the Child Gala held in September, and a Stroller Walk for Child Abuse Awareness Month held in April.
