Deseret Book Podcast Production Intern

2020 Spring/Summer
March 2, 2020 June 29, 2020

Internship description:

Over the last three years, Deseret Book, including flagship media brand LDS Living, has become one of the most recognizable creators of podcasts for LDS Audiences. Chances are you’ve listened to or shared one of our popular podcasts All In, This Is the Gospel, and The Sunday on Monday Study Group. Our podcast team is small but passionate about making a positive difference in the world and setting (and achieving!) big goals and we’re excited to have talented new people as a part of that team.

This internship offers a unique opportunity to learn AND practice the ins-and-outs of producing content and managing content distribution in a mission driven but corporate environment. As our production intern, you’ll use your creativity, attention to detail, knowledge of communications/literary theory, top-notch writing skill, strong content editing instincts as well as your natural storytelling talents and teaching ability as you gain new skills to make media that matters. We’ll help you make professional goals that match your interests and drive to succeed and you’ll help us consistently and expertly get our shows out to the world.

In media production, no two days are the same! One day, you’ll be helping one of our volunteer storytellers develop their story and storytelling technique to record and the very next day you’ll spend your time editing, recording, uploading, or developing effective and on-brand show notes. As one of our in-house editors, you’ll get on-the-ground experience with post-production software (frame.io, audacity) to professionally and quickly edit podcast episode elements for use in several podcasts with direction and input from the strategy team and producers.

Additionally, you’ll assist with the strategic, administrative, and legal sides of our podcast production. And the best part: Your work will be heard by and help tens of thousands of people around the world to draw closer to Jesus Christ.
